Weather will impact the plans you make for your market. Setting dates after prayer will determine success or failure! |
(Idea 1) Leaders of Christian churches must ask themselves a few questions -- "Why should
I get involved?" "Will this idea be good for my church?" "Is a free barter market
something that God will bless?" "How do I decide?" Well, once a choice is made to either accept or reject this opportunity, will the success or failure of this project make you feel sad or glad? Will hope for manifesting the Kingdom of God "on Earth as it is in Heaven" become much stronger or a little weaker because of the choices you make? Making friends with new neighbors is a good thing to do! Church members enjoy witnessing and bartering! Experiences at markets might lead to salvation for lost souls! Fellowship between Christians can lead to Spiritual unity! Donations from participants will help those in need! United Christians can be a positive force in all nations! AFBM members will help keep this voice on the Internet! (Idea 2) Once you decide to become a member of AFBM, you will need to start making plans! The first thing to do is pick your dates for the year. The next thing is to select a good location. Depending on community "rules" that must be a part of your consideration, getting permits or whatever else might be required, a place will be needed that can accomodate people and vehicles. Your church parking lot, a nearby ball field or park might work just fine! (Idea 3) Before you continue working on plans, take a few minutes and mail your church photo/pastor's name/address/market location/dates/and regular church contact information to Music City Revival. We want to advertise for you as soon as possible. The next thing on your list of options should be how to organize the event for the convenience of everyone involved. Maybe you will need shelter during rain either under tents or inside the church? Maybe free lunches for visitors with an appeal for "donations" would be nice? |
(Idea 4) A single-page announcement to be mailed and handed out to people in your community
might be worded something like this example: |
Free Barter Market A River Of Life Christian Church Event Date: All Day Saturday -- June 9th Location: Church Parking Lot -- 2007 Winding Road East City/State: Hopeland, Amerijericho Everyone Invited To Barter & Fellowship! This is HOWWEDOIT to keep all of us honest and happy: We honor a "1 Free & 9 Barter" rule! If you made ten of anything, donating one of something to our church helps you to help us. You can barter with others to get whatever you want, but we plan to sell or give away what we receive to benefit friends in need. Bring homegrown fresh or canned food, candy, pastries, oil paintings, blankets, crafts of all kinds, candles, pottery, clothing, and all kinds of bargain-bought items to barter! If you have more stuff than you want... Barter it for some stuff you really need! Contact Us By Phone At: 777-123-456 For More Information! |
(Idea 5) Monetary transactions should be avoided except for sales or items that are donated.
These funds might be helpful in covering your operational expenses. All unsold
goods can be used to assist those in need of charity. We all know that compassionate
giving is better than greedy receiving. We know that loving is better
than ignoring. Even so, those friends who are suffering for a variety of reasons
need a helping hand as well as prayers! (Idea 6) Getting media support to spread the news about your market will increase the potential for success. Volunteers can distribute church bulletins and press releases far in advance to assure that the public becomes aware. It will take "word of mouth" advertising to ultimately determine how large or small the crowd will be at your market. Coming up with ideas to generate excitement among people in your community will be the most challenging part of making plans. As we can imagine, once our very first Free Barter Market in the world has become history, we will learn about things to do or not do. Sharing information about market experiences is one reason that the AFBM message board will be the best place to get ideas in the future! (Idea 7) Asking talented people to donate their services will help to promote interest. A graphic artist could create an original logo for your market -- and others such as copy writers, printers, food caterers, traffic directors, and newspaper reporters can all play a role. When the public becomes aware of your Free Barter Market plans, they will start thinking about attending if they have "stuff" that can be exchanged for other "stuff" they need. (Idea 8) The actual "value" of stuff to be bartered will be determined by the participants. One person with a blanket might be willing to swap for two rocking chairs or maybe twenty jars of honey? Another person with a bike might be willing to swap for a frog -- just to make a kid happy? Being a part of watching and listening to people interacting will be part of the fun. This is a good reason that it might be a good idea to plan something for those who just want to fellowship with the crowd. Other than making food and drinks available, providing places for conversation or playing games would be a way for your church members to make new friends. Dedicated pastors are always looking for ways to increase the size of their membership. Inspired sermons going out from behind the pulpit need ears to hear if the Word of God is to make a significant impact! (Idea 9) Would you be glad or sad if this project fails? Please pray that the ideas found on our web sites under the name of "Music City Revival" for the purpose of making "Amerijericho" and "Free Barter Market" a way to make good things happen in our world will not be like dust blowing in the wind. Too many lost souls need to find Christ and too many hurting people need help! Everything about AFBM market plans should keep the "WWJD" decision-making process in mind. None of us can predict the future, but we do know that "community unity" can make survival possible when natural disasters, unemployment, homelessness, accidents, sickness, or terrorists upset the lifestyles of our families, friends and neighbors. If the "Body of Christ" as a representative of His Kingdom here on Earth is not available to assist those in need -- then who can people depend on? The government? (Idea 10) Let your motivation for making this project a success be for the right reasons! None of us know for sure if these ideas will result in success or failure unless we try! Maybe we should be wondering if Lord Jesus Christ would approve or disapprove of your decision to accept or reject what has been offered to you on this day? These special concepts will be E-mailed to Ambassadors of nations and many Church leaders in coming weeks. Also, we will be putting this information on Internet message boards. Before this year finally comes to an end, how many will choose to stand with Jesus on His side of the dividing line instead of remaining with those who do evil? (Idea 11) Since we want to trust each other and everyone else who joins with us in this project, we need to remind ourselves that Christians want to be united for the sake of pleasing God.
